Blog — Hirschen, fine hotel in the Bregenzerwald
Nominations & Awards
Awards and many occasions to celebrate
Autumn 2025 was quite an eventful time. Not only did we celebrate the 270th anniversary of the Hirschen appropriately, receiving 16 points in Gault&Millau for our culinary offerings in the restaurant, and our Raphaela is now one of the 50 best patissiers in the German-speaking region - our bathhouse was also in the spotlight.
Recently, we have the honor of calling ourselves "Holders of the Austrian State Prize for Architecture in Tourism and Leisure". Out of all the nominees, our project was awarded the category winner - we are very pleased to celebrate this with the NONA architects. The jury justifies the award as follows: "The project complements the existing hotel ensemble in a harmonious way and sensitively integrates into the village center. The new building impresses with precise execution, careful material choice, and a balanced spatial structure. The integration into the dense village structure and the conscious handling of public space show a sense of responsibility and connection to the locality. The project convincingly unites contemporary use, quality, and context."
Furthermore, the bathhouse made it to the final round for the Mies van der Rohe Award for European Architecture, which honors contemporary architecture of high quality. Simply being nominated for this special award by the Federal Chamber of Architects is a great honor for us.
And since all good things are three, we were nominated for the nationwide Client Award of the Central Association of Architects, which honors outstanding buildings, open space design, and urban planning solutions.
For us, these awards are a confirmation of our deep belief that time gives things quality. From the initial desire to build something iconic, an achievement has arisen with the help of the architects and craftsmen in the Bregenzerwald that has garnered attention far beyond borders. We are truly proud.
