Exhibition at the Angelika Kauffmann Museum
Exquisite. Angelika Kauffmann and Literature
The exhibition traces the stories that Angelika Kauffmann (1741–1807) tells in her paintings. What literary material did she draw upon, which scenes and characters did she select, and how did she depict the events? These and other questions are examined in detail through original paintings, drawings, and prints from all creative periods. The chapters range from the epics and tragedies of antiquity to Shakespeare and Torquato Tasso, up to famous contemporaries of the artist such as Goethe, Herder, and Klopstock.
Tuesday - Sunday, 10:00 am - 5:00 pm (until October 31)
Guided tours every Tuesday at 3:30 pm and Sunday at 10:30 am
Guided Tour at the Frauenmuseum Hittisau
The Frauenmuseum Hittisau stands out for its special approach to personal art education. Twice a week, an alternating cultural educator provides insight into the current exhibition and leads a tour through the museum. The guided tour lasts approx. one hour, is conducted in German, and can be attended without prior registration. To find out which exhibition is currently on display, visit www.frauenmuseum.at

In 1657, Michael Beer founded the Au Guild in Au in the Bregenzerwald. Its members designed and built around 800 Baroque buildings across Central Europe up until the 1780s.
