EVENTS IN SCHWARZENBERG & SURROUNDINGS
Schwarzenberg Market
Every autumn, two highlights shape village life in Schwarzenberg. First, the Alp Day, with a tradition spanning over 400 years, and second, Market Day, with its big market mile on September 19. The village center transforms into a bustling marketplace, while the Angelika Kauffmann Hall hosts the judging of the best Alp and mountain cheeses (yes, there is a difference) by an internationally staffed jury. From 9 a.m., the meadow opposite the A.K. Hall offers a glimpse into the world of forestry, and between 10 and 11 a.m., cheese lovers can cast their vote for their favorite cheese in the hall. Tasting is explicitly encouraged!
Handwerk + Form Exhibition Walk, October 3–11

WHAT ELSE IS ON? MUSEUMS & CO
Summer Exhibition at the Angelika Kauffmann Museum
Exquisite. Angelika Kauffmann and Literature
The exhibition traces the stories that Angelika Kauffmann (1741–1807) tells in her paintings. Which literary subjects did she draw upon, which scenes and characters did she choose, and how did she depict the action? These and other questions are examined in more detail using original paintings, drawings, and prints from all periods of her work. The chapters span from the epics and tragedies of antiquity, through Shakespeare and Torquato Tasso, to famous contemporaries of the artist such as Goethe, Herder, and Klopstock.
