Christmas & New Years Eve
For many of our guests, it is the most wonderful time of the year: the house is stylishly decorated, the fire crackles in the fireplace, you warm up in the sauna after a round in the fresh air, enjoy the architecture in the bathhouse and look forward to dinner in the ballroom ... Christmas is in the air. It really is a special time and we look forward to spending these weeks with you every year.
Christmas time in Schwarzenberg
The Schwarzenberg Advent has almost achieved cult status. Every year on the first weekend of Advent, the village square is transformed into a marketplace with crafts, cabaret and an atmospheric supporting programme. The Advent market heralds the start of a series of special events in the village: concerts, readings, workshops etc. attract young and old - and treasures from the kitchen and cellar are once again on offer in our ‘Underground’: In the fermentation cellar, there will be mulled wine and mulled cider as well as specially compiled gift boxes. It is open on these days:
November 29 and 30 — 3 to 8 pm
December 23 — 3 to 7 pm
December 24 — 12 to 1 pm
Christmas Eve
On Christmas Eve, we maintain the tradition: after the aperitif at 6 pm, the Christmas menu is served in 4 courses at large tables. Those who wish can attend Christmas mass in the parish church at 9 pm. As an exception, we close the Hirschen a little earlier on this evening (at 10 pm). This means that our employees can still celebrate with their loved ones.
The days after Christmas are characterised by enjoyment and relaxed savoir-vivre. If Mrs Holle has heard us, there will be enough snow for tours on the Bödele and downhill runs right up to the house or long walks across meadows and through forests. A bit of wellness (with a massage or two), a bit of reading, a drink or two at the bar (no New Year's resolutions yet). In the evening, choose from our daily changing a la carte menu as part of our curated culinary programme.
On Farmer's New Year's Eve, 30 December, we serve a 3-course menu with a choice of main course: roast Duroc pork, Kässpätzle or Vorarlberg fish.
New Year's Eve
We celebrate the turn of the year in style and set off a small firework display from the kitchen and cellar at the New Year's Eve ball! From 6.00 p.m. we await our guests in black tie for an aperitif and fine menu. At Midnight we will be waltzing to the sounds of the Pummerin - please bring your dancing shoes. With the best hits of the past decades from the turntable - played by Peter and Pia Fetz - we start the New Year! A little reminder at this point: please don't try to do without pleasure. It would be a shame ...
While you (sooner or later) slumber blissfully, preparations are underway for the New Year's brunch. Breakfast is served from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm, sometimes with a Bloody Mary. On the evening of 1 January you can choose from our A la Carte menu.
And the days leading up to 6 January? They are filled with small and large temptations (Jonathan, Raphaela and the team cook their finest dishes. Pia harvests treasures from the cellar. Niko is Niko.), plenty of time for idleness and relaxation.
Even Mozart recognized this: Nothing experienced today. Also nice.
