The rooms at Hotel Hirschen

Each room tells its own story, which will accompany you as a guest during your stay. In the room you will find information about the artists and their works, the namesake of the room, background info, and suggestions on how and where you can find out more about the subject.

The namesakes for the kunst.zimmer in the historic Gasthof Hirschen are interesting personalities who were connected to the house such as the already mentioned Angelika Kauffmann, Franz Michael Felder, Eduard Mörike, who spent his honeymoon here, King of Bavaria Max II, who stayed here on his way to Berchtesgaden, and actor Hans Moser. The kunst.zimmer with modern character can be found in the Wälderhaus.

kunst.zimmer in the Hirschen

The splendid facade of Gasthof Hirschen is around 250 years old and dates back to its previous golden age. The late Baroque architecture shows the prosperity that was due to merchandise trade by hosts arising from the farming surroundings.

As the most important inn, the Hirschen received the most priviledges from the grocer. With the Maria Theresa concession for all kinds of commodity transactions, business flourished. Even back then, the Hirschen was especially popular with crowned heads and creative minds. Nothing has changed to this day. Namesakes for the kunst.zimmer in Gasthof Hirschen are thus interesting personalities who are connected to our house.

kunst.zimmer in the Wälderhaus

The Wälderhaus is a wooden building modeled after Bregenzerwald farmhouses. This is where you will find the kunst.zimmer with modern character, from the cozy attic room to the spacious suite. You will come across renowned Vorarlberg artists such as Gottfried Bechtold, Tone Fink, and Uwe Jäntsch as well as exceptional Bregenzerwald talents such as Leopold Fetz, Paul Renner, Herbert Meusburger, and Rita Moosbrugger.

An insider's tip is the diverse work of Franz Metzler. The exhibits of Franz Fetz's uncle constitute the heart of the hotel's art collection. Other exciting Schwarzenberg items are the watercolors by Bartle Kleber and graphics by Harry Metzler.
